Call for papers11th International Conference on the Chinese EconomyThe "new normal growth" and the future of the China's economyCERDI-IDREC, Clermont Auvergne University, France and CCES, Fudan University, Shanghai, ChinaClermont-Ferrand, 19-20 October, 2017The CERDI-IDREC organizes every two years an international conference on the Chinese economy. The conference attracts participants worldwide to address major economic issues and challenges that China and the world are currently facing. For this 11th edition, the conference is organized with China Center for Economic Studies (CCES), Fudan University, Shanghai, China. The theme is: The "new normal growth" and the future of the China's economy. The theme is significant and timely from both the research and policy perspectives. China is officially entering a “new normal” era for its economy. After the slowdown of growth, the economy is rebalancing. The world turmoil has probably accelerated the adjustments but nevertheless, China is entering a new phase and must avoid the so called middle-income trap. The trade engine is less efficient and the government has implemented policies to boost the domestic demand. China is facing a demographic transition with an ageing population and the society is asking for more social security, more pensions but also more environmental safety. The domestic economy is deeply changing with the service domination in the output, the upgrading of industrial production and the unfinished reforms of state enterprises and of the financial sector. The project “One Belt, one Road” is supposed to design the new international strategy of China and serve its interests, for the domestic economy as well as for trade and Foreign Direct Investments. Consequently, the challenges are numerous and the uncertainty is high. The themes of this conference are:
Keynote speakers:Fan Gang, NERI, Beijing University, China HOW TO SUBMITInterested authors should submit either a draft or a detailed abstract of their paper by 30 June 2017 on the conference’s website: https://idrec2017.sciencesconf.org. The abstract should include the objectives, the methodology as well as the expected results. The scientific committee, in collaboration with the local organizing committee, will select papers for the conference. A confirmation of accepted papers will be sent to the authors by 15 July 2017. The final version of the papers should be submitted by 30 September 2017.
